The Meaning of Eliezer

Eliezer is a Hebrew boy's name meaning "God is help" or "God of help," derived from EL (God) and ezer (help). This encapsulates our entire ethos. We believe that through faith and practical support, we can be instruments of help to those navigating the complexities of life.

"In 2008, when I was 20, my mother passed away and I fell into a deep depression that led to addiction. My aunt found Eliezer Ministries while I was in rehab, and the weekly support meetings became a safe haven for me. Through the courses on forgiveness and freedom in Christ, I surrendered my life to Jesus. I've been clean for almost 13 years now, and my wife, two children, and I serve as missionaries in Madagascar. Thank you, Trevor and Violet — my life was saved for eternity."

- Johan N.

"At the height of my addiction, Trevor and Violet were among the very few people who never gave up on me. Where others advised my family to let me go, they kept showing up — driving to our home, taking my calls, sharing their understanding of addiction and the freedom God had in store for me. Though we now live continents apart, catching up with them still feels like talking to family. Today I am more than ten years free, and that would not have been possible without both of them."

- George G.

"Uncle Trevor and Aunty Violet came into our lives during one of our most difficult seasons. Fresh out of rehab and navigating life as a new couple, we found unwavering support, guidance, and love through them — walking with us through relapses, a miscarriage, job losses, and so much more. Uncle Trevor even had the privilege of marrying us. They never judged, and they were never absent when we needed them most. Without their steadfast support, we would not be where we are today."

- Mardorette G.
